At the NBA draft filled with a plethora of ambitious basketball players, Gradey Dick shine the brightest. He can attribute this to his outfit. And his talent, of course. The youngster was clad in a red sequined suit that was reminiscent of Dorothy’s ruby shoes from ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ His outfit included components from the classic movie and paid homage to his Kansas origins. Despite the attention his playing style attracted, Dick stayed committed to having a big impact on his new team, the Toronto Raptors, who took him with the No. 13 overall pick.

The 19-year-old displayed his shooting ability during his one season with the Kansas Jayhawks by averaging 14.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. His 83 three-point field goals made as a freshman at the University of Kansas also set a new record. On the night he set the red carpet ablaze, he also had a request for the Canadian rapper, Drake.

While joking with a reporter, he said, “I need Drake to wear my jersey. That’s my priority.”
