NBA legend and former Los Angeles Lakers player Shaquille O’Neal has opted to remain single after he separated from his ex-wife Shaunie Henderson in 2010. However, the four-time champion had the internet buzzing after he relayed a marriage proposal to the Memphis-based notable hip-hop artist, GloRilla Hallelujah Woods, known by her stage name, GloRilla. Incidentally, this was not the first time the Big Diesel had initiated a conversation with her. In a recent interview, GloRilla disclosed that she received a DM from Shaq which left her astounded, just a month before receiving the marriage proposal.

The Memphis-based artist is one of the most popular rising rappers in the country right now. She rose to fame after releasing her 2022 song F.N.F. (Let’s Go) with Hitkidd. The song was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

GloRilla was stunned after receiving a text from Shaquille O’Neal

GloRilla appeared in an episode of Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM to talk about dating, signing with Yo Gotti, and a plethora of things. During the interview, noted radio personality, Angela Yee asked her, who was the craziest person to communicate with her after she blew up.

The No More Love singer didn’t hesitate to reply, “It was Shaq. When I first blew up, when I was first blewing up it was like the second day, he Dm’ed me. He was like ‘I f*ck with the new single.'”

The popular rapper then revealed her astounded reaction to Shaq’s message, “I was like ‘Shaq, you listen to me!!!‘” The Memphis-based rapper continued, “I was a Lakers fan back when him and Kobe [Bryant] used to play together. So I’m like ‘damn, what the f*ck, Shaq.'”

GloRilla’s statements implied that she couldn’t believe that she was getting a DM from Shaq. It was apparently a dream come true moment for her as she was a fan of the iconic duo of Shaq and Bryant, just like everyone else. However, the rapper would get another surprise from Shaq a month later.

The Big Diesel would relay a marriage proposal to her via his Big Podcast. Although the proposal was supposed to be a joke from Shaq, the gesture would surely mean a lot for the trending rapper.

Shaq is still single

Shaq might have shown interest in GloRilla but the 15x All-Star is still single.  A couple of weeks back on his podcast, the former Lakers player disclosed that he didn’t receive any flowers on Valentine’s Day, implying that he is still single. Moreover, the Big Diesel disclosed that he received ‘dumb little mean texts’, instead of flowers.
