3X NBA Champion Dwyane Wade Reacts as Robert Helenius Kisses the Canvas Against Deontay Wilder

The bout between Robert Helenius and Deontay Wilder made headlines as the fight ended with a first-round knockout. Many celebrities took notice and reacted to the fight including boxing coach Teddy Atlas, Hasim Rahman Jr., and Jake Paul. And to add to the list, so did 13-time All-Star Dwyane Wade. 

The three-time NBA champion went to his Instagram to react to the fight. He posted a picture of Deontay Wilder walking away while Robert Helenius was knocked out, and lying on the canvas.

Dwyane Wade joins the chorus

He captioned the picture, “Cold a** photo.” Fans who witnessed the fight could not believe the bout ended the way it did. Jake Paul’s jaw dropped in absolute awe after seeing the quick knockout.

Deontay Wilder faced Robert Helenius on October 15, 2022, at Premier Boxing Champions. The two spent the first few minutes throwing a few jabs, getting the feel of the other boxer and their movement.

And before you know it, the two got into it where both boxers threw punches and Wilder landed one right to Robert’s face. Within the last 15 seconds of the first round, Wilder threw a punch that knocked Helenius out cold for the rest of the night.

The ‘Bronze Bomber’ may have had a certain advantage in his reach as he is taller than Helenius. He had a 10 cm reach advantage that likely played in his favor in the fight. Wilder is known as one of the most fierce punchers in boxing. 

His jabs do pack certain strength and have the ability to arguably knock anyone out cold. It’s not surprising that Dwyane Wade chose that caption for the image. Plus the way Wilder walked away after knocking out Helenius was as if he had ice in his veins. 

Both fighters get a substantial payday

According to sources, Wilder will have made $20 million from his knockout fight against Helenius. On the other hand, Helenius will get a base pay of $1 million for his fight against Wilder.

Fans were excited seeing Wilder go up against Helenius since both fighters returned to the ring after a long break from boxing. And since Wilder is one of the most devastating heavy hitters there are, fans were in for a show.

Even though the fight ended in the first round itself, it sure got the attention of arguably one of the best shot-blocking two-guards, Dwyane Wade
