Aged 50, Shaquille O’Neal Claims He Has Same 3-Word “Disease” as One of Brad Pitt’s Iconic Characters

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is one of those players who always seemed to have some struggles staying in shape throughout his playing career. Apart from that, he also has sleep apnea. However, these are supposedly not the only health problems that the Big Diesel has. Recently the four-time NBA champion admitted that he has the same “disease” that one of renowned Hollywood actor Brad Pitt’s characters had in a film.

It is none other than the multiple Academy Award-winning film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’. It has several notable names in the cast such as Cate Blanchett, Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, and Mahershala Ali to name a few. Moreover, Brad Pitt played the leading role of Benjamin Button. Recently, Shaq spilled the beans regarding the “disease” that Pitt’s character had in the film.

In the latest episode of his podcast, ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, co-hosts Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams noticed that Shaq’s skin was looking like he got a facial recently. Adams then said, “He got a paint job”, poking at Shaq’s size as the two started laughing at the Big Diesel’s expense. The Los Angeles Lakers legend then admitted he had to for a commercial that he was shooting.

Turner, upon hearing this, asked the four-time NBA champion, ‘But they don’t like you the way you are?”

Progeria or Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) is a type of disease that makes a child age rapidly. It is also an extremely rare type of disease that affects one in four million people worldwide. The disease got its name as the ‘Benjamin Button disease,’ after the movie.
