The Los Angeles Lakers are in a tricky place as the season keeps progressing. They just lost to their shorthanded city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, and are barely in the picture to be in the play-in tournament. Moreover, injuries have not stopped looming on them. However, it seems LeBron James is enjoying himself despite all the trouble with his team.

LeBron has been the best player on the purple and gold this season. He has played a huge role in them being in the play-in tournament picture so far. The King has produced the most on the offensive end and is playing some of his best basketball at 37. However, a knee injury is keeping him out, and that is hurting the Lakers big time.

The purple and gold have several problems on their hand which is keeping them from taking games. Firstly, a poorly constructed roster is not working out for them. They lack shooters on their team and a lack of a consistent offense is killing them.

Some good news is that Anthony Davis has been playing really well since his return and Russ has complimented him well. However, they need to figure out a move before the trade deadline.

The biggest issue for the Lakers has been defense. While the purple and gold may have a great offensive night at times, they can’t contain their opposition. With a relatively older roster, their defense is one of the worst in the league and rivals can score buckets rather easily. Hence, they need to try to get a dominant defensive player on their side.
