Love him or hate him, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is one of the best players of the past decade. Blessed with physicality and scoring prowess like no other, KD was destined to be successful. However, despite all his successes on the court, he has faced hardships outside of it.

Durant is often bashed by the media for his blockbuster move to the Golden State Warriors where he won two NBA titles. Moreover, his antics on social media are also often the center of numerous debates.

Despite all the media pressure on him, Durant is quite good at keeping his personal life to himself. Unlike many other NBA athletes, KD does not like to share much on social media.

Incidentally, he dated WNBA player Monica Wright for quite some time years ago. Moreover, he also proposed to her impulsively. But their relationship did not end well. After their breakup, a heartbroken Durant admitted in a 2015 interview, “I go to sleep at night, like, ’Am I gonna be alone forever?’… Am I gonna have kids?”

Although not much is known about Kevin Durant and his love life, he was once rumored to be dating realtor Cassandra Anderson. She is a former college-level volleyball player having many accolades to her name.

I feel like there’s no hope. But I still gotta have faith,” he had added.

Why did Kevin Durant and Monica Wright break up?

Much like Durant, Monica Wright entered the WNBA as the second overall pick. They had a lot in common and were rumored to be engaged back in 2013.

However, their engagement was short-lived and the two basketball stars broke up shortly after. Talking about their breakup, Durant said, “I had a fiancée, but…I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways.”

After getting selected as the second overall pick in 2011, Wright played just 7 seasons in the WNBA. She retired in 2016 averaging 7.3 points, 1.6 assists, and 2.2 rebounds.
