The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be happy campers right now. After a disastrous 2022 and start to 2023, the team rallied back to a Conference Finals appearance. But now, with their core of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, along with young stars on the roster, the Lakers could be set up for big things next season. Additionally, the team plans to be active in the trade and free agency market. As LA tries to acquire more star power, there is one name that is on everyone’s mind.

While rumors have floated around for James Harden, Damian Lillard and even Trae Young, only one name sounds realistic – the Point God might be making a return to LA, and the Lakers should definitely try to join the sweepstakes.

The Banana Boat has long served as a reminder of one of the most impressive collections of basketball talent. Comprising LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul, the crew is of a close group of friends.

Out of them, LeBron has had the opportunity to play with each member, save Chris Paul. After the historic Heatles collaboration with Wade, and the disastrous 2022 with Melo, when will a potential CP3 team-up land?

Recently traded, Paul reached his team most apropos to his basketball skills. The Point God landed well with the Wizards but Washington, however, plans on re-routing Chris to another team to acquire additional assets. Chief among the potential contenders are the two LA teams – the Lakers and the Clippers. After his family has also been under fire, a championship would mean the world to Chris and put a bow on a Hall-Of-Fame career.

However, while his NBA future hangs in the balance, Chris Paul doesn’t seem to be sulking or anything. He recently teased fans with a side quest that he’s completing. A marketable figure, Paul is joining the cast and crew of Good Morning America for a very special episode. The show has previously criticized CP on multiple occasions, so it should sure make for an entertaining watch!
