“Bring the King of NY Back”: Knicks Fans Get Emotional as 10x NBA All-Star Shows Up for Christmas Day Game vs Sixers

The New York Knicks started off nicely against the Philadelphia 76ers during their Christmas matchup but ended up losing the game by a margin of seven points, with the 76ers winning 119-112. Apart from that, one of the big three’s of the Knicks, Jalen Brunson also suffered a hip injury and had to leave the hardwood in the latter part of the game. However, amid all these, Knicks fans got to enjoy the presence of a 10-time NBA All-Star during the game. Moreover, his presence in the arena was also able to garner quite a lot of attention from NBA fans on social media.

The 10x All-Star is none other than the Knicks’ great, Carmelo Anthony, who played in New York for more than six seasons. Melo was seen sitting courtside in the building for the game. When the 38-year-old was introduced in Madison Square Garden, he received nothing but love from the crowd.

Melo, along with getting love from the fans in the arena, also received comments from fans on social media. They were quick to react and flooded Twitter with their thoughts and reactions. Most fans indicated that they want the New York side to sign Melo back on their team. They addressed him as the “King” who should be back on the squad.

The 38-year-old played finished his stint with the Knicks with an average of 24.7 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 412 games. The Brooklyn native also helped the Knicks win 54 games in the 2012-13 season along with helping them win a playoff series for the first time since the 90s.
