The Minnesota Timberwolves got their second consecutive win after they won against the Utah Jazz last night. With this win, they are currently standing in the 11th position in the Western Conference table. The main attraction of the night was the return of Rudy Gobert to Salt Lake City after he left Utah Jazz last season. The fans in the arena also showered respect toward Gobert before the match started. However, despite getting a warm reception, his actions on the court made the NBA universe go into a frenzy on social media.

Gobert’s trade probably came as a surprise to the fans as the Stifle Tower did sign a $205 million contract with the Jazz in the summer of 2021. However, in exchange for Gobert, the Jazz were able to pick up a pair of prodigious packages to further strengthen their roster.

Regardless of his trade, Rudy Gobert received warm appreciation from the fans after he came to Salt Lake City for the first time since the summer of 2020. However, during the match, the Timberwolves center was seen mockingly celebrating on the court after a late-game bucket. Malik Beasley, however, did not appreciate this. It led to a tussle between the two. They also exchanged some words between them. The fans took to Twitter to express their opinions.

The fans mostly gave mixed opinions. Most of them didn’t like Gobert’s behavior and probably thought of it to be a bit ‘disrespectful‘ towards his former team. One of the fans said that the primary reason behind Gobert’s behavior on the court was that he got traded. However, some comments also implied that they stood beside Gobert and thought that Beasley should focus on his gameplay rather than pointing fingers at his former teammate. Nevertheless, regardless of their individual intentions, the scenario did create a storm on social media.
