Golfer Tiger Woods had a lot of friends in the NBA community. He was quite frequently invited out by players like Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. There were all elite athletes who were living large.

Jordan was the most famous NBA player in the league when their friendship began in the 90s. On the other hand, Tiger Woods was just starting his pro-golf career. Tiger Woods’s public image took a huge slump as he was involved in an infidelity scandal in 2009. However, all of them faded away as he started golfing again in 2010 and attained his prime.

NBA legend Charles Barkley also shared a good relationship with Tiger Woods. Both of them hung out a lot together.

Tiger Woods was also involved in a car crash recently. He was overspeeding on the road and ended up crashing into a tree. The car rolled off the road, and he suffered severe leg injuries. However, this is not the first time Tiger Woods has been involved in an accident. He was also involved in a car crash in 2009.

After his car crash in 2009, the sex scandals came up. He lost everything he had then. His family, sponsorships, and so on. It is after this incident that the famous golfer went on a hiatus from golf. He stopped playing for a brief while.

The friendships drift apart

Charles Barkley has claimed that he has had no contact with Tiger Woods ever since that accident in 2009. Apparently, Michael Jordan reconciled with him and developed a relationship again.

Anonymous sources, familiar with both Jordan and Woods have exclaimed that Woods has not contacted Jordan since 2016. Apparently, Woods was not happy about Michael Jordan’s frankness in an article from ESPN The Magazine.

Jordan and Barkley have been clueless as to why Woods stopped communication with them. “To this day, I don’t have any idea what happened,” Barkley exclaimed sadly. “After that … thing, he just stopped talking to us. That’s all I know.”

“I could understand if he was trying to get back with his wife at the time and she said, ‘Hey, get rid of all your old friends,’ and he called and said, ‘This is the situation,’ Barkley added.

There was a sudden and abrupt end to their friendship. Charles Barkley could not find any reason or justification as to why it happened. Barkley claims that if Woods would have reached out to them and explained why he was maintaining distance, he would have understood. All Charles Barkley wanted was an honest reason.
