However, indications suggest that the new GM is likely to come from within the organization. One potential candidate is Mike Dunleavy Jr., who currently holds the position of Vice President of Basketball Operations. According to reports, Dunleavy has been groomed as Myers’ successor. Dunleavy, a former player for the Warriors from the 2002 draft class, he played for five seasons with the team before being traded to the Indiana Pacers. After retiring, he joined the Warriors as a pro scout and subsequently became an assistant general manager. He received a promotion to his current role in 2021. The official announcement regarding Myers’ replacement is still pending.
