The league is filled with outstanding players and winning the MVP trophy is no joke. However, the Cameroonian basketball star flipped the script with his dominant season. His phenomenal outing: 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists made it easy for the voters to choose him as this season’s MVP. The 29-year-old center player received his award from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver last night before facing the Celtics.

However, a few hours after the ceremony ended, ESPN’s Tim Bontemps revealed Embiid’s thoughts on his Twitter page. According to Bontemps, the 2x scoring champion said he wasn’t impacted by the pre-game ceremony. However, the six-time All-Star wished for such ceremonies to be conducted after the regular season and before the playoffs.
