Brittney Griner isn’t done with the fight
When Griner’s shocking detention made headlines, commissioner Cathy Engelbert was at a loss. In fact, she was against the entire situation and called Griner’s arrest unjust. Still keeping the same stance, the executive revealed a crucial detail. Notably, Brittney Griner’s private letter had three words that sparked hope in her and the basketball world as well. The three-word message read, “I’m staying strong.”.

Engelbert said before the WNBA finals: “I recently received a handwritten letter from BG, and I am so inspired by her courage in the face of enormous adversity. We are fully focused on getting her home safely, and she remains such an important part of the WNBA family.”
