Despite $1 Billion Deal With $194 Billion Co., LeBron James Congratulates Close Friend for Business With $4.4 Billion Competitor
There are quite a few wealthy NBA players, and the Los Angeles Lakers icon, LeBron James, is one among them. The four-time champion has a staggering net worth of $1.2 billion. All thanks to the NBA pay-checks and brand endorsements over the years. In fact, James’ net worth grew significantly after he signed a lifetime deal reportedly worth $1 billion with a $194 billion company, Nike, in 2015. Therefore, Nike played an instrumental role in making him wealthier. Meanwhile, recently, King James congratulated one of his closest friends who did business with a Nike competitor.
The sports agent who represents James, Rich Paul, recently did business with a $4.4 billion company, New Balance. In light of this, the 19x All-Star took to social media to congratulate Paul.

Lately, Paul has launched his new sportswear brand, ‘Klutch Athletics’ in partnership with New Balance. The company’s mission is to provide all athletes with high-quality training apparel that is ‘functional and stylish’. In a Monday press release, the 41-year-old said, “There’s a gap right now that we can fill. We’ve seen other brands moving away from youth sports and training, so we’re focused on bringing the new look of training for the next generation.”
James wished his agent joy on Instagram after acknowledging that he was launching his brand. Recently, the Lakers icon shared a plethora of things on his Instagram stories. In one of those slides, King James congratulated Paul.

There is no doubt that Nike and James share a special relationship. In fact, Nike’s founder Phil Knight was present on the court when the 19x All-Star became the All-Time Leading Scorer. Therefore, even if ‘Klutch Athletics’ is his agent’s brand, it is implausible that the four-time champion would wear clothes anytime soon from it as it is a competitor of Nike.
