Shaquille O’Neal is among the game’s greatest to ever play the game. While his on-court career was phenomenal, his time since retirement has been just as stellar. Whether it is business ventures or the industry-best media personality, Shaq has aced each role. A charitable figure, Shaq has become the benchmark for a post-career athlete. Apart from the occasional conspiracy theory, Shaq has grown wiser as well. Since retiring, Diesel has made peace with a lot of his rivals, most notably Kobe Bryant. However, his longtime rivalry with Inside The NBA’s co-host and 76ers legend, Charles Barkley, is the kind of hilarity that makes the show such a hit.

While the two constantly butt heads, it was Barkley’s comments on the show from years ago that resurfaced recently.

With time, Shaq’s family has also grown bigger. His 6 children, Taahirah, Myles, Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir, and Me’arah have become an imperative part of their dad’s life. In an old resurfaced episode, the crew was breaking down a game.

However, the true highlight, as always, was the banter between Shaq and Charles Barkley. As Shaq was wishing one of his children their birthday, Chuck piped in. While Shaq said, “Shout to my youngest daughter, Me’Arah, Happy Birthday baby!” the Chuckster couldn’t help himself.

Barkley, with trademark hilarity, said, “Don’t any of your kids have normal names?” As the show proceeded to move on, Shaq threatened Charles. “Chuck, talk about my kids again, I’m telling you…”

While the broadcast moved forward, Chuck chipped in with one more zinger. “You know, you say happy birthday to all your kids, we’ll be here till like 3:30 in the morning.” Barkley’s comments bordered on the offensive but were quickly brushed past. Shaq didn’t take them to heart and the two continue to enjoy a solid friendship. However, that bond did not stop Chuck from exposing Shaq’s lies about his charity.

With Shaq’s expansive personality, comes media commitments. Along with a candid attitude, his natural charisma and wit serve as the perfect ingredients needed in a guest on any show. As a result, on an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show, the Lakers legend might have exaggerated a story.

While his philanthropy is the stuff of legends, this one story goes against the grain. Shaq proclaimed that anytime he went out to eat, he made sure to tip the waiter whatever amount they asked for. Later, Kimmel tried to confirm the story.

When he asked Charles about the same, Charles was empathic in his rejection. “Hell no! He doesn’t tip like that.” The entire crowd lost it and raucous laughter could be heard. The two legends continue to share an unbreakable bond, and it is heartwarming to see them continue their amazing job on TNT.
