The NBA has had seen many great athletes. From Larry Bird to Kobe Bryant, the names are plentiful. The league has seen the dominance of LeBron James and Stephen Curry. But they have not seen anyone like Michael Jordan dominate the court again. There was something different that stood Jordan out from the rest of the greats. It was not only about the accolades he won or the glory he chased, but it was also about his unreal determination and dedication towards the game of basketball.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was probably an athlete from another industry that showed a similar level of dedication like Jordan. The habit of practicing also made Arnold succeed in different streams of his career.

Similarities between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jordan

The legendary ‘Breakfast Club’ helped to display the unreal work ethic of Jordan. Jordan along with Scottie Pippen, Ron Harper, and Randy Brown started the Breakfast Club. What was initially meant to be a 30-day workout project stayed with Jordan for 15 years. Jordan and his other members would gather at around 5 am to train for 2hrs at the Highland Park mansion in Illinois. They kept on training irrespective of having a match or not.

Similar things could also be found in Schwarzenegger’s career. He went on to recall an incident of shooting for the movie Terminator. He said that it was not easy to shoot for Terminator within three months of coming back from open-heart surgery. But he was able to succeed in it. He started by doing lung exercises and short walks regularly to warm his body up.

He then went on to make the walks a little longer. After successfully completing it, he took the permission of doctors and started to hit the gym. He went to pick heavy weights after gradually starting with light weights. In this way, he made himself 100% fit before going to the set.

Another similarity between the two elite athletes were that they both woke up at 5 am. And subsequently, proceeded to work hard at the gym to realize their goals in their respective fields. Quite surprisingly, Schwarzenegger still follows this routine, even at the age of 75, while MJ followed it in his young years.

Schwarzenegger also said that he had a clear vision and achieved the impossible by repeating the necessary things needed to achieve the target. He advised everyone to set a clear goal first and then go on to do the important things needed to achieve the target.
