“There’s a very good chance he will not be back and they will trade him this summer. Or at least, strongly explore trades,” he stated on the possibility of the Pelicans trading away Zion.
Thereafter, Schultz added that trading for Zion could give the Pelicans a lottery pick due to his impressive statline in the previous season. Furthermore, he added that the Pelicans will be looking to trade Zion simply because they need a solid player who can be healthy without being sidelined for extensive periods.

Clearly, it seems as though Zion’s health is a major concern for the Pelicans. Despite him being a phenom in high school and college, and having solid performances in the NBA, his absence is costing the team. Moreover, the franchise now has a leader in CJ McCollum, another young star in Brandon Ingram, and a solid veteran in Jonas Valančiūnas.

All they need is another solid piece to improve their standing in the NBA. With Zion being out, it could mean that the required piece can come from elsewhere.
