Despite being a legend on the court, Kobe Bryant thrived outside the court too. The five-time NBA champion quickly started many business ventures outside basketball.

Bryant signed a deal with Nike in 2003 as the brand hoped for him to be the heir to Jordan’s throne. The company grew alongside Kobe’s brand. Further, Bryant was successful in setting up a venture capital firm Bryant Sibel, which is worth 2 billion dollars in assets right now. Companies like Dell and Alibaba are some companies Kobe has invested in.

The reputation of the ‘Black Mamba’ brand in recent years is quite incredible.

Notably, the business ventures of Kobe are worth millions because of the passion he had for what he did. Being a legendary basketball player, he transitioned his skills to become a successful entrepreneur after his retirement. “Probably one of the most just like charismatic people I have ever met, just like the energy that surrounds him, it’s crazy. It was just insane like just unmatched with anybody, I feel like I’ve met and warm, and just like super passionate and nice and I’ve obviously interviewed a ton of people, but I feel super blessed I was able to work with him,” said Demita.

Business ventures of other NBA superstars

Kobe is not the only NBA star with a successful business. Jordan has his signature shoes- ‘Air Jordan’, while Magic was a well-known investor in the business world.

However, there are many athletes who go broke after their illustrious careers. Allen Iverson was a prime example of that notion. But not Kobe.

Famous swimmer Michael Phelps spoke about the business capabilities of Bryan, who also endorsed McDonald’s, Sprite, Nintendo, and Turkish Airlines. The Mamba is the only player to win an academy award and an NBA championship in his career.
