Kyrie Irving’s trade left the NBA world in shell shock. Traveling cross-conference, the former Brooklyn Nets guard is teaming up with Luka Doncic. Paired with an MVP-caliber star, KAI might elevate the Dallas Mavericks to contender status. However, in doing so, he left behind his best friend, Kevin Durant. Former NBA star Evan Turner even tweeted sympathizing with the Slim Reaper. But it seems the masses believe he dug his own grave.

Before the season, it was KD who was involved in trade talks. The situation was ugly. The 13-time All-Star called for an ultimatum from Joe Tsai and management to fire then-coach Steve Nash. However, the parties found a way back and returned to the same page. Since then, Durant has had to endure Irving’s off-court drama. In addition, he also dealt with James Harden leaving.

When he decided to leave, KD didn’t change his formula. When it came to the Warriors, he joined them after a call from Draymond Green. This time, a conversation with Kyrie Irving did the trick. However, things don’t always work out. And that’s just what has happened to the 13-time All-Star.

After spending two chaotic seasons, KD reached his edge. Likewise, he had the chance to move away from the Nets. However, despite all the red flags, Kevin Durant decided to sign an extension. It could be argued that his decision was wrong. But now, nothing can change. KD has to live through his choices and make with what he has.
