Michael Jordan’s 67-15 record Bulls reached the 1992 NBA Finals beating Cavaliers (4-2) and were ready to face the 57-25 record, Clyde Drexler-led Portland Trail Blazers. During the first game of the series, Jordan delivered an electrifying performance that fans still find hard to believe in. Delivering an unforgettable performance, he beautifully sank six three-pointers in a half, concluding with an iconic shrug toward the broadcasting table. However, recent revelations from basketball legend Magic Johnson have provided an intriguing insider’s perspective on this legendary moment.

As per Brandon Robinson, Magic can be heard saying “The night before he hit all them threes against Portland, we’re playing bid whist at his house.” and I said, ‘Michael, I got to go home. You got a game.’ Because I was working for NBC at that time.”

“So, he shot and made like four, five [3’s] in a row. And when he made that last one and turned to the score [broadcaster’s table], he was turning to me. He was so hot that night, so he owed me a lot because I’m the one he was mad at. That’s why he took it out on Clyde Drexler the next day in the game.”

MJ’s remarkable basketball career showcased greatness in various aspects of the game, but it was not his prominent skill in three-point shooting, that immortalized this unforgettable moment as ‘The Shrug Game.’
