In the press conference last night, Klay Thompson implored empathy from Charles Barkley. He looked somber while stating that he was hurt by Barkley’s jarring comments. His team voiced their support, and so did his Splash Brother, Stephen Curry’s mom. 

From his rookie season to winning 4 championships, Sonya Curry has witnessed the growth of Klay Thompson up close. She has seen him navigate his way through the highs and the lows. She calls Klay her fourth splash son and on Instagram, she stood up for him. 

Sonya Curry Supports Klay Thompson

In a heartfelt comment, Sonya Curry urged Klay to eliminate the white noise while focusing on his goal. She reminded him about what it is to be a champion and expressed her desire to witness Klay smile wholeheartedly. “Never let them see you sweat,” her advice was simple.

She summoned him to rise above the critics and said, “You don’t owe anyone any explanation. You at your proclaimed not same self are still better than most of the current and past players in the NBA.” To top it all off, she concluded her comment with a quote from the Bible. 

Sonya’s comment was highly applauded by the NBA community. People claimed her to be an inspiration and the “Real MVP”.

The future for Klay

Klay found some support in his Coach as well. Warriors Coach Steve Kerr believes that Klay is going too hard on himself. He said, “Klay cares so much about the game, about his impact on our team. He wants it so badly, and he’s trying to force everything right now.” But his coach realizes that Klay has experienced these slow starts before and has always found a solution. 

Klay Thompson is grateful to have the opportunity to compete at the highest level. With this straightforward mindset, Klay is battling his inner demons to achieve absolute greatness. 

While Klay is working towards finding his rhythm, he is not too worried about his present form. He realizes that each NBA season is long. Lightheartedly, Klay believes that he’d rather go through a slump now and peak during the playoffs.
