It has been more than a decade since NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and his ex-wife Shaunie Henderson had separated. As of now, the Big Diesel is single, while on the other hand, the ‘Basketball Wives’ star is enjoying her time with her husband, Pastor Keion Henderson. Recently, the duo started a podcast, and in the very first episode, the now 48-year-old Shaunie shared her intriguing experience of meeting Keion for the first time, to clear out all the ‘discrepancies’.
The duo had been dating for two years before getting engaged on Nov 2021. Eventually, they tied the knot on May 2022. Recently, the former reality TV producer revealed the story of meeting the love of her life for the first time.

Shaunie Henderson blushed while disclosing the experience of meeting Keion for the first time
In the first episode of the ‘The Groow Zone Podcast’, Shaunie reminisced about her first date with her husband in a hotel. During the podcast, while speaking about the date, she said, “Oh, I had the best time.” Moreover, she added that they had an awesome conversation in the restaurant until they were thrown out because the restaurant was closing. Subsequently, Shaunie said that after having an awesome lengthy conversation, it was time to wrap up the date. But it looked like her now husband wanted to spend more time with her.
In light of this, Shaunie said, with a slight blush, “I said, ‘I’m a lady and I need to go home. Oh, you have me out too late, sir.'”
“Then he[Keion] said, ‘No, no, no, please don’t go. Not yet. I want you to stay a little longer, and let’s keep talking. Because I’m having such a good time,'” she added.
The 48-year-old continued that she stayed there for an extra 30 minutes after Keion’s entreaties.
Shaquille O’Neal congratulated Keion and Shaunie before their marriage
In one of the past episodes of ‘The Pivot Podcast’, Shaquille O’Neal had some glowing words for his ex-wife and her current husband. In other words, the Big Diesel praised Keion and Shaunie ahead of their marriage. The four-time champion said, “She’s happy now. She’s about to marry a fine, young gentleman, and I’m happy for her.”
Shaq’s marriage with Shaunie didn’t work and the two parted ways in 2011 after staying together for nine years. However, the Big Diesel was seemingly very happy with Shaunie tying the knot with Keion.
