Kyrie Irving finally joined the Dallas Mavericks days after taking the NBA world by storm with his trade request. However, a day after the eight-time All-Star made his proposal, the Brooklyn Nets coach, Jacque Vaughn had a stern reminder for him. Meanwhile, shortly after the Nets coach gave his reminder, NBA fans chipped in to give their own opinions on social media on the whole fiasco.

Vaughn became the Nets’ head coach in 2022 and knows the value Kyrie Irving brings to any team quite well. The now 47-year-old got the best out of the 30-year-old for some time now. Therefore, amid his trade request, the Nets coach appeared dejected for obvious reasons and let his thoughts be known to the public without holding back.

In a recent post-game interview, Vaugh was asked if he feels Irving was letting the Nets down. In response, the Nets coach said, “I think you have a responsibility as a basketball player, like I do as a coach. I show up, I do my job every single day, that’s what I signed up for, and that’s my expectation for one through seventeen.”?

Meanwhile, as soon as the 47-year-old passed the remarks about the 30-year-old, NBA fans swarmed into the comment sections of social media with their strong opinions on the matter. Vaughn wished Irving well following his move to the Mavericks
Vaughn might have had some strong words for the 2016 NBA champion, but as soon as the news spread that the Ankletaker was leaving, he wished him well on his new journey. In a recent post-game conference, the former 2007 champion had some kind words for the eight-time All-Star. He said, “My interactions with Kai have always been positive. I enjoyed coaching him. I want him to succeed. I’ll keep it that simple.”

Irving joined the Nets in 2019 and played 143 games for them. While playing for the Nets, he averaged around 27.1 points, 4.8 rebounds. and 5.8 assists.
