Ever since the Philadelphia 76ers lost to Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs, one name has become synonymous with all their troubles – Ben Simmons. Despite being considered as potential talent for the franchise, the Philly fans want the organization to trade Simmons out of the team.

After poor performances against the Hawks, Ben Simmons wants to leave the 76ers after criticisms from the fans. Thus, Chris Broussard spoke about the problems that the franchise faces with Simmons on the roster.
“There is talk that Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia just as much as they want to trade him.

“And that he’s not even returning anybody’s calls within the organization. And there is news that he even won’t go to training camp, that’s how badly he wants out. If there is truth to this noise then you do have to move him.”

“I get that not wanting to trade him for less than they should get for, but you don’t want him going into training camp when you got designs getting to the NBA finals and if he goes into training camp and is disgruntled and just brings everybody down with his attitude, it almost becomes like a James Harden situation in Houston last year,” said Broussard.

That’s how bad the situation is. Simmons has not reached the promised land after coming to the 76ers as a potential superstar. However, the point guard wants to get out of the franchise. Harden’s problems at Houston are thrown under the shade. The shooting guard wanted to leave Houston for Boston and threw in major tantrums.

Harden’s situation to Simmons
Despite being the MVP in the league during the 2018 season, Harden’s time with the Rockets was not working out well. The scoring output of Harden was never in doubt. However, with Russell Westbrook on the team, it was clear that these two were ball hoggers. Thus, Harden became unsettled and wanted to leave for Brooklyn to play with KD.

Harden started to miss out on practice as the franchise was not happy with the situation. Moreover, he went out of town for a birthday party of Lil’ Baby as he missed training sessions. In the meantime, Simmons is going through the same path. In conclusion, he wants to get out of Philadelphia as soon as possible.

Fans turning on Simmons is the key takeaway from this situation. Despite being an incredible threat on the defensive side of the game, his performances in the playoff series against the Hawks were miserable. To sum up, Ben Simmons needs a change. One that could do wonders for his career.
