Joel Embiid Admits He Felt Kevin Durant Flopped During Their Exchange in James Harden’s Return Game

Trash talk is a big part of the game of basketball. Opponents are willing to do anything to get under each other’s skin. This season, the story has been no different. Notably, the healthy rivalry between two MVP candidates really came to the surface. Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant have had more than a few run-ins this season. Recently, Embiid spoke on their most recent face-off and what he thought about it.

Both Embiid and Durant and extremely competitive individuals. Their hunger to win is immense and they are willing to go to any heights to make it happen. But sometimes in the heat of competition, things get chippy. The first time, the two superstars kept going at each other, with Embiid waving the Slim Reaper off. However, Durant got his revenge playing the Harden-Embiid duo. During the game, KD and Joel had an intense moment of trash talking, which left fans going crazy.

While speaking to JJ Reddick, Embiid said he felt Durant tried to flop on that play.

Joel Embiid explains the exchange with Kevin Durant

Recently, Joel Embiid came on as a guest on The Old Man and the Three podcast. During one of the segments, Embiid expanded on his exchange between him and Kevin Durant during their matchup in Philly. While Embiid said he loves and has immense respect for Durant, he also feels the Slim Reaper flopped on that play.

Embiid said: “We talk about flopping, I felt like this was a flop. If you’re man enough, if you get hit, don’t flop. Stay up.”

While there is no clear call answer from KD, both individuals hold the best respect and praise for one another. But when it came game time, all they have is a win on their mind. In addition, with Harden’s first game against his former team, the aura was even more intense. But with the pressure shining on, the duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving prevailed. The two Net stars combined for a massive 47 points. They handed Harden and Embiid a thumping 29 point loss and sent out a statement.
