Kobe Bryant Once Gave a Crucial Financial Advice to a 13 Year Old Who Left Him Stumped With His Questions

We have all heard of interviews conducted by SI Kids reporter Max Bonnstetter. Despite his young age, he does quite well in his job, coming up with great questions every time. However, we’re talking about the time when he impressed everyone with his ability during the interview with NBA star Kobe Bryant. On the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” he interviewed the Los Angeles Lakers star.

The reason why Bonnstetter received so much attention was the interview he conducted with South Carolina head coach Frank Martin about defense. Moreover, the level of questions asked by the young kid was shocking not only to the fans but also to Frank.

At the Tonight Show, Bonnstetter asked Bryant a series of questions during the interview. However, the question that got the most attention was regarding the financial lessons he has learned along the way.

It was clearly a great interview, as you can see, and how could it not be when two of the best in their fields were there? In the video clip, you can see Brant answering back-to-back questions that reveal his personality and the kind of person he is. The chance to speak one-on-one with one of the greatest all-time players would be an honor for Bonnstetter.

From the interview question series, Bonnstetter began by asking Kobe what it was like to receive that amount of money at such a young age. Before Bryant could answer, Bonnstetter mentioned that he does not get paid. To this Bryant then responded by explaining,“It was awesome. There are worse problems to have. It was pretty cool, yeah,”

Following this, when he was asked about what was the first thing he bought with his first paycheck, he replied: “I bought nothing actually, I put it in a bank and I saved it.”

The Brilliant Start to Kobe’s Legendary NBA career.

He joined the NBA, as a 17-year-old. The Charlotte Hornets selected him in the 13th round of the 1996 draft after he graduated from high school. During the start of his career with the Lakers, he scored 36 points in a match against the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers won by a score of 107-100. At such a young age, it was a responsibility to handle the career as well as the fame that would come with it.
