LeBron James is easily among the best ever to step on the NBA floor. In fact, many claim him to be the best ever. The ‘King’ came into the league out of high school and displayed pure domination against his opponents.

Moreover, being from Ohio and getting drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers meant that LeBron was Cleveland’s prodigal son, who was sent to deliver success to the franchise. And he did exactly that in 2016 as the Cavs came back from a 3-1 deficit in the finals to win the series 4-3.

However, unlike superhero movies, great power and success don’t just mean great responsibility. It also brings in plenty of debate. Over the years, LeBron’s consistent performances have helped them gain an edge in debates that compare him to other players. However, there is still one debate that LeBron has yet to have unanimously won.

This is the debate of the Greatest of All-Time (GOAT), and his opponent is none other than the great Michael Jordan. In light of this GOAT debate, Skip Bayless spoke in favor of MJ and used a weird argument to back it up.

Skip Bayless on LeBron James and Michael Jordan

During a recent episode of ‘Undisputed’ both Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe debated on who the NBA’s GOAT is. While the latter sided with the ‘King’, Bayless produced a weird argument siding with ‘His Airness.’ He used a statement that Larry Bird made regarding MJ in the 1986 Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against the Chicago Bulls, to side with MJ as the GOAT.

“Well, nobody ever said about LeBron, ‘That’s God disguised as LeBron,'” added Skip, as he sided with MJ as the GOAT.

Clearly, Skip felt that MJ’s 63 point performance in Game 2 of the matchup against Larry Bird’s Celtics was another reason why MJ was greater than LeBron. MJ was great at dominating teams filled with talent. But one must remember the fact that the Bulls lost that series.

Moreover, LeBron has had great performances against talented teams. An example of this would be Game 1 of the 2018 Finals where he scored 51 points in the overtime loss to the Warriors.

So it is quite clear that the GOAT debate between LeBron and MJ is very close. In fact, probably the most evident factor differentiating the stars is the number of NBA titles each of them have. However, this can change if LeBron continues to play at a high level. At 37, it is now or never for the ‘King’.
