Michael Jordan was a gift to the world of sports. Dancing in the air, His Airness captivated the entire population. His greatest accomplishment, a 6-0 perfect record in the NBA finals, is a true mark of him being a winner. Moreover, he was a trash talker of the highest order. And former Philadelphia 76ers guard remembers his first taste of that trash talk like the back of his hand.

In 2003, all eyes were on the NBA. An icon, one of the greats was retiring for the third and final time. Jordan was playing his final game against the Sixers. The arena was chanting as the Chicago Bulls legend bid adieu to the game. To make sure the five-time MVP gets his moment, Snow was the player who fouled him.

However, that one special moment is one the former Sixers guard has no memory about. Snow had forgotten his contribution to Jordan’s true Last Dance. However, he remembers His Airness as the competitive animal that he was.

Years before being part of arguably the biggest retirement in NBA history, a young Eric Snow met MJ in his prime. The Sixers guard remembers one certain play like the back of his hand. At a time Jordan was a ruthless competitor, he didn’t spare anyone. And when a 6’3″ Snow was put on the 10-time scoring champion, he got a taste of his trash-talking skills.

Michael Jordan saw the opportunity and immediately wanted to take advantage. However, with him, it was always more than the battle on the court. His Airness demanded the ball. Snow remembered the moment and said: “I was defending him and he grabbed my arm, moved it out of the way and yelled, ‘Give it to me, I got a little mouse on me.’ ”

After such introduction, Snow probably never expected to be part of Jordan’s grandest moment. However, life played out just that way. Moreover, Snow was the last person to foul His Airness. His gesture gave Michael Jordan one last moment to embrace the roar of the crowd. He sank his two free throws which gave him an average of 20 points per game in his last season. One of the greatest of all time had finished his career by giving it all he got. And Snow can proudly say he was part of the historic moment.
