NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most loved athletes ever. Apart from being one of the greatest NBA stars, Shaq’s lovable personality has attracted millions around the world.
The four-time NBA champion has multiple philanthropy ventures under his name. Moreover, he never fails to give back to society and the people who have helped him before.

For instance, the 7-foot-1 inch Shaq once renovated the house of his uncle Roy O’Neal located in Orlando. Roy had helped Shaq and his family before his days of stardom.
Interestingly enough, uncle Roy had put up Shaq’s entire family after the 1992 NBA draft. Despite all his help to O’Neal’s family, Shaq’s uncle asked nothing in return. Not even tickets to Shaquille O’Neal’s games!
When Shaq wanted to renovate his uncle’s entire house, Roy politely declined. However, persuasion from Lucille O’Neal, Shaq’s mother, urged Roy to allow Shaq to do the work. O’Neal got to work as he renovated Roy’s entire house while also gifting him a brand new car.
Shaquille O’Neal installed a huge tub in the living room
It seems Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t joking when he promised this to be the ‘best celebrity renovation’ ever. The former Los Angeles Lakers icon instantly got into the action as he installed a hot tub in the living room. According to Shaq, he wanted to install the ‘Shaq-cuzzi’ in his uncle’s living room so that people notice the tub the first thing they enter the house.

After much persuasion from O’Neal, the head designer finally agreed to install the tub. Although O’Neal was involved in most of the activities, he came up with bad excuses more often than not.

“Sometimes you have to sit back and let people do what they do“, said Shaq. The 50-year-old also blamed his arthritis for keeping him from helping the rest of the team. The former NBA champion also decided to gift his uncle a brand new Toyota 4runner worth around $50k.

O’Neal was quite emotional regarding the whole process of returning back the favor to his uncle. “This is probably one of the best things I’ve done in my life“, said Shaq.
