Millionaire TV Hosts Drew Carey and Steve Harvey Used to Help Brittney Griner Share “Bonding Moments” with Her Mother

NBA star Brittney Griner was very close to her mother Sandra Griner. When she was young, they both would spend a lot of time together watching TV. Griner revealed in her book that she and her mother had some “bonding moments” watching shows hosted by Drew Carey and Steve Harvey. Carey and Harvey are two of the most hilarious hosts in the country. And growing up, the basketball star and her mother watched their shows a lot. She also added that they both would watch whatever was on Food Network.

Griner stated that they would watch The Price is Right and Family Feud. Carey and Harvey have been entertaining families for years now. As per reports, Carey has a net worth of $165 million and Harvey has a net worth of $200 million.

The Phoenix Mercury star was born and brought up in Houston, Texas. She spent most of her life close to her house. Her mother has always been supportive of her.

In her book, In My Skin: My Life On and Off the Basketball Court, Griner talked about how she spent time with her mother. In one instance she talked about the TV shows they would watch.

“My mom and I had our bonding moments, but it wasn’t like now. She taught me how to sew, and I would curl up on her lap in the living room while she watched her favorite shows: The Price is Right and Family Feud and anything on the Food Network,” she wrote.

The WNBA champion then talked about her mother’s cooking which she loves and the food habits of her family.

“I love my mom’s cooking. We were big meat eaters in our family, and every night we would have delicious ham or fried chicken or steak or burgers. And yes, I ate a lot of bacon for breakfast,” Griner added.

When she joined the Baylor Lady Bears she missed her mother and her home. However, it was not very far. After four successful years in college, she declared for the WNBA draft. The Phoenix Mercury selected her as the first overall pick in the 2013 WNBA draft. So for the first time, she had to move far away from her home to Phoenix, Arizona.

Griner stated she and her mother had a really tough time being away from each other. She added her mother has always been on her side.
