According to his mother, there is no need for people to know how much one has or how much one gives to charity. It was surprising to hear the reason behind Lucille O’Neal not admiring her son’s charitable work as one would assume it’s not wrong to talk about how one has made a positive difference in society.

A few months back Lucille O’Neal opened up about her alcohol addiction. She reportedly took a lot of money from Big Diesel in order to buy the best liquor available. She eventually overcame her alcohol addiction to protect her son’s image. She realized that Shaq is a public figure and has a reputation to maintain. Her alcohol addiction might be harmful for her son’s career. She said, “I didn’t want people to see Shaq’s mother as a drunk. I was using his money to buy the best liquor. The world was paying more attention and I needed to give them something positive to look at.”
