NBA Twitter Calls Out LeBron James After He Surprisingly Praises Timberwolves’ Patrick Beverley
Despite an early elimination, LeBron James’ postseason is not without drama. The Los Angeles Lakers star has been following the playoffs as expected, sometimes turning to Twitter to comment on the games and more. This time, James praised Minnesota Timberwolves veteran Patrick Beverley, who really stepped up during Game 3 against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Certain fans, however, were slightly unimpressed.

According to some NBA fans, James was praising Beverley after laughing at him earlier on, slightly confused at his tweets. Of course, no one has a way of confirming what James meant earlier.
LeBron James sending mixed signals to Patrick Beverley
The tweet fans were referring to was a string of laughing emojis James tweeted after the Timberwolves’ play-in win over the LA Clippers. Though it could have meant anything, fans were convinced James was targeting Beverley and the Wolves. Kyle Kuzma’s tweet fueled this conclusion as well, where the former Laker joked about Minnesota winning the title after winning the play-in.

While most reactions called out James, some even considered a future Beverley to Lakers move. Even though some fans were joking, some seemed serious enough about the roster change. Interestingly, Joel Embiid fans showed up in the replies, asking James why he never complimented their star when he went off.
Is there some history between Beverley and James?
Despite the uncertainty, James and Beverley’s history seemed to have convinced fans. Beverley has often trash-talked James when with the Clippers and has also spoken about being sent away in Miami.
Patrick Beverley was his usual animated self tonight.
"I got drafted by the Lakers, they traded me to Miami. LeBron got there, they cut me. I remember it like it was yesterday. So yeah, there's a chip on my shoulder."

Furthermore, many just seemed confused over James’ tweet. Few expected a reaction out of the Lakers star, who is currently just spending some time off.
Having said that, the Wolves have lost two straight games against the Grizzlies after their Game 1 win. While they have been playing better, it might not be enough to stop Ja Morant. Of course, Beverley’s addition to Minnesota’s roster has provided invaluable experience to the team.
