However, some fans argued about whether Morant showed similarities to Allen Iverson or Derrick Rose. The quickness, speed, and strength that prime DRose possessed is something that Morant has right now. However, Morant possesses the scoring ability and fearlessness of Iverson.

The Comparisons Between Morant, Iverson, and Rose

As fans rightly said, Morant exhibits similarities to both Rose and Iverson. While in their respective primes, Rose and Morant were the heroes on their teams. Under Rose, Chicago became the favorites to win the title. His speed and quickness helped him score easy buckets for the Bulls. Fans truly believed that they could win the title with Rose. And if they did, it would be the franchise’s first-ever title since Michael Jordan.

Like Rose, Iverson too was a deadly player for the Philadelphia 76ers. He possessed a scoring ability that made him stand out from the rest. This is especially considering his height and stature. Moreover, Iverson took the 76ers to the 2001 NBA finals. Although they fell short, the franchise never stopped believing in him. His iconic killer crossover and insane scoring ability are just a few reasons why AI was included in the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team.

In comparison, Morant seems to resemble a mix of AI and Rose. Memphis’ young star has been on the rise ever since he set foot in the NBA. In fact, he even won the Rookie of the Year award, similar to both Rose and Iverson. He possesses the same quickness as Rose while also being able to put up big numbers like Iverson. In all likelihood, he could win an MVP, as Iverson mentioned, and maybe even an NBA title. Regardless, fans will hope that Morant’s power continues to grow and takes over the NBA.
