The New York Knicks had a fantastic season after hiring Tom Thibodeau. The performances of Julius Randle were key, as they made the playoffs for the first time since 2013. With RJ Barret and Nerlens Noel forming an strong support cast, the MSG crowd got entertained with mesmerizing performances. Moreover, Randle became the Most Improved Player last season, and Thibodeau won the Coach of the Year.

In an incredible performance, they finished fourth in the Eastern Conference. Despite losing in the first round to Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks, they played brilliantly throughout the season. MSG was a special place to be, with fans cheering them every time the players took to the court.

After that successful season, Derrick Rose and Kemba Walker have signed for the franchise to continue the momentum.

Although the Hawks won the series, the return to the playoffs meant a lot for the franchise. Likewise, Randle performances played a key role in that. By averaging 24.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 6 assists per game, the power forward took them home in an incredible offensive display of basketball.

Key matchups this season

October 22, vs Philadelphia 76ers: With Ben Simmons expressing his desire to leave the franchise, the duel between Julius Randle and Joel Embiid would be a treat to watch. Embiid is one of the best centers in the league, a do-it-all. However, with the saga of Simmons, the 76ers may be unsettled with different players. This will be their first stern test for the season.

November 5, vs Milwaukee Bucks: The Knicks will visit the current NBA champions at Fiserv Forum for a road trip. High after their victory against the Phoenix Suns, Giannis and Co. would not be easy to get past. Thus, this match will be one for the ages. Randle and Walker would hope to weave their magic to win this game.

November 23, vs LA Lakers: After completing the signings of Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, the Lakers are expected to go all the way. With talented players inside the paint, they have a very good defensive setup. Despite their great defense, they were known to struggle during their offensive side of the game. Thus, LeBron James and co would be motivated to win the title this season as the Knicks would have to be at their best to come with a victory.

November 27, vs Atlanta Hawks: The ambiance created by both these teams last season was outrageous. With Trae Young being patronized as a villain, the MSG crowd was mesmerizing. However, Trae provided some incredible moments during that playoff run, defeating teams on his way. The team would be keen to get revenge as both the teams will meet soon.

March 13, vs Brooklyn Nets: Another rivalry match on the cards, the Nets and Knicks are rivals. Although the Nets have a much better roster right now, the game against these two teams would be important for the playoff spots. Both have talented players but with KD, Harden, and Kyrie, there are chances that this would be tough.
