The Golden State Warriors superstar, Stephen Curry, received the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year award on Thursday night in San Francisco. Curry was seen rocking the red carpet along with his wife, Ayesha Curry, by his side. The Warriors coach, Steve Kerr, and his teammate, Klay Thompson, also joined in to give him a tribute. Therefore, in light of this, Stephen Curry penned a heartfelt message on social media after winning the award.

2022 is a special year for Stephen Curry as he won his fourth NBA championship in a span of eight years. On top of that, he went on to become the Finals’ MVP. But his list of achievements just didn’t stop there.
The Dubs guard also completed his graduation after a break of 13 years. In addition to that, he and his wife, with their foundation, did many charitable works throughout the year. Hence, no doubt all these achievements of the Warriors guard got him the award, which further made him write a heartfelt message on Instagram.

During the award acceptance speech, there was no short of gratitude in Stephen Curry’s words. It seemed like Curry himself couldn’t believe that he was the recipient of such a prestigious award. Moreover, his message on Instagram also reflected the same actions that Curry showed on the stage.
The Dubs guard said in his message, “This one is for the village with me on this journey. On and off the court. Nothing happens without you showing up in every way. Joining this list of recipients…..whew! Thank you Sports Illustrated for the honor”

Therefore, Stephen Curry’s statement implied the amount of love he has for his fans. Moreover, he was very thankful to the fans for always supporting him. Besides that, the string of words also portrayed the amount of joy and excitement he got after being the recipient of such a prestigious award.
