Jalen Brown was the first journalism graduate from Morehouse College in its history of 156 years. Morehouse College didn’t have a journalism major up until recently. However, in 2021, that changed because of Michael Jordan’s generous vision.
According to sources, Jordan donated $1,000,000 through his well-known Jordan Brand as part of the Black Community Commitment project. This helped Morehouse College launch its Journalism in Sports, Culture & Social Justice major. Furthermore, this curriculum expansion builds on the foundation of the institution’s existing Sports Journalism minor, allowing students to learn about a wider range of journalistic specializations.
