The story of how Stephen Curry came into the NBA has inspired many. It truly is an example of how greatness has emerged despite the odds. As an undersized guard, Curry did not receive any scholarships from top NCAA Division 1 schools and finally ended up at Davidson College. Here was when Curry’s performances caught the eyes of many. In 2008, the Wildcats of Davidson went on a Cinderella Run during the 2008 NCAA Tournament. Led by Curry, they upset big names such as Gonzaga, Georgetown, and Wisconsin, but lost out in the Elite Eight.

It was during Curry’s time at Davidson that he met Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, and a picture of the greet was taken. That picture has now resurfaced on Twitter and fans can’t get enough of it.

The rare photo of the trio emerged on Twitter in light of Curry’s birthday. This put fans in a storm as many fans trolled the fashion sense present in the photo, especially that of Westbrook’s.

Additionally, some fans reminisced about the game during which this meeting occurred. It was a matchup between Davidson and Oklahoma. While Davidson had the presence of Curry, Oklahoma had Blake Griffin in their lineup. Moreover, both young stars put up strong numbers in the game.

Furthermore, fans even cited the fact that Curry was the oldest among the trio, but played in the NBA only after KD and Westbrook. Some even claimed that Curry was the greatest among the three, without whom Durant would have never won a title with Golden State.

Clearly, the fans were taken aback by the picture. Moreover, it showed how much of a phenom Curry was in the NCAA. He would then carry the same talent to the Warriors and become one of the best ever to play the game.

It was in the 2009 NBA draft that the Golden State Warriors would use their 7th pick to draft Curry. Although the young star would be plagued with injuries, he was able to bounce back and become the superstar that he is today.

Along with him, the Warriors would draft Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. This formed a big three in Golden State which let to the franchise winning a title in 2015. In the next season, the trio attained the best regular-season record of 73-9. Although they lost the title in 2016, the Warriors added Kevin Durant into the mix to form an extremely dominant squad who won 2 titles in a row in 2017 and 2018.
