Shaquille O’Neal has always been a funny guy. Whether it be on the court, or on the ‘NBA on TNT’ studio. Shaquille O’ Neal has been the target of countless memes and is always engaged in some activity. There are various instances of Shaq rapping and dancing and so on.

Shaquille O’Neal has also taken his funny talents to Hollywood. He has had quite a few cameos and also decently major roles in Adam Sandler movies. This goes to show Shaq is always up for a laugh and tries to provide as much entertainment as he can.

On “The Late Late Show with James Corden” Shaq recalled one such funny incident of his life. Shaq revealed that he was once arrested in London. When asked why that happened, Shaq replied that he was given a pretty common, yet unusual challenge by a friend.

The incident that almost got Shaq in trouble

Shaq went on to say that his friend bet 50,000$ and challenged him to make the Queen’s Guard move from their place or change their facial expressions. It is important to note that the Queen’s Guard are always in full uniform and have a reputation for not moving or responding to funny antics. The Queen’s Guard is always standing in an attentive position.

Shaq accepted the challenge and attempted to make the guard move. He explained on the show that he tried to make the guard move by making sudden, jittery movements in front of the guard. He did so two or three times. However, he unintentionally bumped the guard a little while making those sudden mistakes. It was an honest and silly mistake.

How Shaquille O’Neal managed to get out of it

Nonetheless, Shaquille O’Neal was detained for a while after this incident since touching a Queen’s Guard is not allowed. They took Shaquille O’Neal to a back room where he detained for a while. He hilariously recalls how he used David Beckham’s name to get out of it.

“David Beckham is your guy over here, I’m the black David Beckham of the States,” Shaq said to a guard. He then proceeded to recall how he jokingly told the guard “Tell Prince Charles that the black David Beckham, Shaquille O’Neal, is sorry for this incident.” 

Shaq was eventually allowed to go without any problems.
