Some rivalries in the NBA are legendary in their own right. One of the recent rivalries that fits the case is Stephen Curry vs LeBron James. The two stars have head-to-head competed for the title of best player almost every year in the recent memory.
Moreover, they have had countless battles in the NBA Finals too. However, when Steph was in college, the King, four years elder, loved the way the young Curry played the game. LeBron even gave him a signed jersey that the Baby Faced Assassin still holds.

Steph came into the NBA out of Davidson college and that was where the point guard first made a name for himself as a lethal shooter. During LeBron’s fifth year in the league, he went to watch multiple games of Steph Curry. After setting the single season record for most threes, Curry came in as a hot prospect to the NBA.

Today, after all these years, the 33-YO still keeps one memory of him and LeBron from his college days. The Warriors guard still has the signed jersey LeBron gave him.
Stephen Curry holds that gift from LeBron James very close
Before going head to head in the NBA, Curry and LeBron shared quite a relationship. James was going to Curry’s basketball games during the latter’s sophomore year in college and was impressed with the way he played. One of the times, LeBron signed a jersey for Curry which the guard still keeps at his parents’ place in Charlotte.
In an interview, Steph said: “I actually still have the jersey he gave me. He signed a jersey for me. I think that was November of my junior year. On my wall at my parents’ house in Charlotte, it’s still there. And he wrote it to me, called me the king of basketball in North Carolina. So I guess it’s like the corny idols-become-rivals thing.”

Curry sure is right on the rival part of things. It was against LeBron James that Curry won his first ever NBA championship. As for James, he got even with the Baby Face Assassin after completing one of the greatest comebacks in sports history the following year.
Both of these stars bring the best out of each other whenever they face off. While both have their own fan bases, one thing that doesn’t change is the respect they share for one another. This was also seen last year during the All-Star game where the two stars bonded during the game.
