Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players ever to have played the game of basketball. The basketball legend was the offensive force for the Chicago Bulls. Jordan was a mid-range assassin who, when needed, could easily get to the basket and score. He was also an extraordinary dunker and could even shoot a three-pointer when needed. This showmanship to his game brought him a fan following of millions of fans.
Jordan was the face of the league for the better part of his career. He was arguably the first transcendent and internationally famous basketball player. But even old achievements eventually fade. The new generations of fans are not lucky enough to have seen Jordan play or see the atmosphere when he used to play.

The Last Dance documentary helped newer fans get a deep dive into Michael Jordan’s career and the surrounding situations. But, surprisingly, among all the interviews, one person’s contribution to the documentary was missing, and that was Jordan’s wife Yvette Prieto. When asked, the documentary’s director had an explanation for this. He said, “I wasn’t interested in the opinion of any wife or kids in this.” He further said, “We had the storytellers we wanted, and I felt like we had the story covered from every angle.”

The Last Dance came in 2020 when the whole world was going through the Covid pandemic. The series features exclusive footage from a film crew that had an all-access pass to the Chicago Bulls, as well as interviews from several of Jordan’s former teammates and support staff including Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, and Phil Jackson.

It was a well-received documentary and received critical acclaim. It even won an Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series’. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans. For the older fans, this was a chance to relive that era. For the younger fans of the game, it was a chance to understand and discover the life of one of the game’s most celebrated players.
