And Shaq opened up on this matter on how he would have felt if he was taunted like the Lakers point guard.

Recently, Shaq sat for an interview with GaryVee, where he discussed his success in his sporting career and his post-retirement career. While doing so, when a fan from LA asked Shaq what is going on with Russell Westbrook this season; the former Lakers star immediately responded to the question.

The Diesel said that he never experienced such incidents as Russ is experiencing now. He added, he never played on a team that said, “They don’t want me,” just as they are saying for Russ.

Shaq said he understood how difficult it was for Russ to sustain the taunts from the people of the state he grew up. He recalled how Russ said he received taunts from the fans in front of his wife and kids sitting on the side court. The Diesel added if he was in the situation of Russ, then the taunts would have definitely hurt him. However, Shaquille O’Neal finished off by advising a need for a fresh start for Russell Westbrook.
