Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was tossed out of the game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. The Grizzlies point guard looked thoroughly surprised upon receiving the tech. On top of that, many fans would probably be more surprised to learn the exact reason behind the call.

The NBA has a history of giving weird techs to players over the years. And now, the 23-year-old All-Star got the chance to be on the list of those players.

Ja Morant gets ejected from the court for talking to a fan

Ja Morant was on the court for 16 minutes during the Grizzlies’ 115-109 loss?before receiving a second technical foul late in the second quarter for interacting with a fan. As a result, Morant had to leave the court. On top of that, another guard Grizzlies player, Dillon Brooks also received a technical foul for enquiring to the refs about the reason behind Morant’s second tech. After witnessing this situation unfold on the court, a commentator said, “This is getting out of hand.”

However, the crew chief of the game John Gobble opened up afterward to explain the decision. He said the 23-year-old received the second tech for an apparent comment that questioned the integrity of the officials.

Regardless of everything, the tech given to him would have perhaps been justified if the conversation between Morant and the fan was intense. However that was not the case, as after the incident occurred the fan, who?revealed?herself as a superfan of the Grizzlies guard, said she was just cheering for him.

Apart from that, several NBA fans were also surprised due to this incident and took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the incident.
