Victor Wembanyama Interest by $7.6 Billion NBA Owner on Live TV Triggers Brutal Fans: “Wants Nothing to Do With Your Poverty Franchise”
The 2023 NBA draft is just a few months away and this year, Victor Wembanyama is projected to be the no. 1 overall pick. All thanks to the draft lottery, a lot of franchises would have the chance to acquire the now 19-year-old prodigy. However, recently, one team owner openly showed his interest in Wembanyama on live TV. This, in turn, caught the attention of the NBA world and prompted them to reflect on the affair, on social media.
Wembanyama currently plays for the Metropolitans 92 in the LNB Pro A in his homeland, France. However, soon the French whizz-kid is expected to debut in the league for one of the franchises.

The Houston Rockets are in the worst shape possible this season, and have a high chance of landing Wembanyama. In fact, earlier this month, an ESPN draft analyst, Jonathan Givony predicted that the French prodigy would end up in the Rockets. Tilman Fertitta, owner of the Rockets, with a net worth of $7.6 billion, recently showed his interest in the 7’4″ center. While speaking about the Rockets during an interview with KPRC Houston’s Frank Billingsley, Fertitta said, “Thank god we got ten days off and pray for Victor”

Apparently, he was rooting for Wembanyama, and hoped his prayers would bring him closer to home. However, as of now, it is unknown whether Wembanyama would end up in Houston or not as there are a few more teams who share a fair amount of chance of landing him. Everyone has to keep an eye on the NBA draft, starting on 22 June 2023 to know where he actually lands up.
