The Golden State Warriors are eagerly awaiting the return of the Splash Brother Klay Thompson. It’s been almost two years of not seeing Thompson on the court and finally, it seems like he’s making a comeback.

During the 2019 NBA Finals, Klay Thompson suffered a major ACL injury against the Toronto Raptors. Ever since he’s missed the 2019-20 season and the one after that. The world watched Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson rule the league for several years, however; it hasn’t been the same lately.

Latest update on Klay Thompson’s game

It’s time for some good news for the Dubs team. Klay Thompson is expected to return by the end of this year though he’ll be missing the start of the 2021-22 regular season. Warriors management hasn’t announced a date for the same, but the fans are excited to hear about the developments regarding his injury.

In a recent press conference, the 5-time NBA All-star elaborated on the current status of his recovery. He told the reporters – “I can make a lot of jump shots, pretty good at defensive side. My timing’s a little off, but it’s also been two years. So, I anticipate, hopefully, in the next four weeks, play 5-on-5. It should be up from there.”

Thompson is yet to play a 5-on-5 that he hasn’t stepped into for quite some time. However, the progress sounds optimistic from the key player himself.

Thompson is yet to play a 5-on-5, something he hasn’t attempted since his Achilles injury. However, the 31-year-old seems genuinely optimistic regarding his comeback and will look to make a resounding statement once he’s back on the court.

Steve Kerr’s team ended the last season a little too early as they weren’t able to reserve a berth in the NBA playoffs. They got eliminated in the Play-ins despite Steph Curry giving his all throughout the year.

Nevertheless, hopes are high amongst fans and the league as the Warriors are looking to make a suitable comeback next season. The last time Thompson was playing, he averaged 21.5 points during the 2018-19 season. The 3-time NBA champion is working on getting back to his true form and that in itself has made the atmosphere a lot better in the Warriors locker room.
