WATCH: Carmelo Anthony Has a Heated Exchange with Fans During Lakers vs 76ers

After a cruising win over the Brooklyn Nets, the Los Angeles Lakers fell short to the Philadelphia 76ers. Playing without LeBron James, the Laker offense crumbled away as the supporting cast failed to chip in. However, the game had some heat between players and fans as Carmelo Anthony got into it with a fan sitting courtside.

Playing on the road, a fan was heckling Melo, and the veteran walked right up to him to confront him.

The Lake show were coming off a huge win on their back, taking on the Nets. However, they couldn’t keep their momentum together. Not having the King hit them hard as they failed to get their offense going. The supporting players couldn’t contribute and the 76ers took complete advantage.

Lakers star Carmelo Anthony and fans get into it

The game was into its final minutes as the Lakers fell behind by 16 points. While going down the stretch, everything seemed fine. However, as soon as the play stopped, Melo went right up to a fan in the stands and they both started chirping at one another. The referees had to separate Melo away from the fan, who was escorted out of the arena later.

Philadelphia fans can be hostile and this isn’t the first instance of such drama. Last season, Westbrook also had an incident where a Philly fan threw popcorn at him as he was walking down the tunnel.

While there was bad blood, the purple and gold were not on their best tonight. Apart from the duo of Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis, no one contributed much. The duo combined for 51 points out of the 87 and carried most of the load. Apart from Malik Monk, no other Laker went into double digits for the night as they shot a combined 41% from the floor.

For the Sixers, Tobias Harris came in big time leading the scoring with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. After struggling early on, Joel Embiid also picked things up, ending the game with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 blocks. The Sixers shot well from both the floor and downtown as they took a convincing 105-87 win at home.
