There was a good match-up today in Los Angeles. Both the Los Angeles-based teams took on each other in what was a very competitive match. However, things turned south for the Lakers in the second quarter as another one of their veteran players got injured.

Carmelo Anthony took a pull-up jump shot, and as soon as he landed, he started limping. He walked off the court right after that. LeBron James is already out with injuries, and now so is Carmelo. Carmelo was an important player off the bench player for the Lakers. His absence will definitely harm the team.

Carmelo scored 7 points and grabbed 2 rebounds before exiting the game.

This was an intense game as the suspense stretched until the last second of the game. There were multiple lead changes, especially in the 4th quarter. However, the Clippers pulled a magnificent clutch play, which resulted in a win for them.

The battle for Los Angeles was really intense today. The Lakers took on the Clippers in an intense match-up. The Clippers were missing Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Whereas, the Lakers were missing their star player, LeBron James.

The game stretched really close till the end of the 4th quarter. Both the teams seem to have put in a lot of effort in the game today. Anthony Davis seems to be slowly coming back to his peak performance after the injury. Davis secured a double-double today while scoring 30 points, 2 assists, and 17 rebounds.

Russell Westbrook still seems to be stuck in his slump, as he did not contribute much to the match. He scored 17 points and 4 assists, which are very low for a point guard of his stature. His field goal percentage was 7 out of 18. He even had a few turnovers to add to his stat sheet.

Clippers, on the other hand, seem to be performing well without their star players. Serge Ibaka, Marcus Morris Sr., and Reggie Jackson all stepped up. They scored 20, 29, 25 points respectively. The Clippers managed a very good field goal percentage today as a team at 51.7%.

It is good to see Clippers give so much competition to a team with two superstars when they themselves have none. This match was an extremely important battle as Clippers are currently 8th and Lakers are 9th. This match gives us a glimpse of what could potentially be part of the play-in tournament.
