“We Slept Together…I Had Never Thought She Was Pregnant”: Magic Johnson Admits How He Told Now Wife Cookie a Dark Secret

Magic and Cookie Johnson have known each other for well around 35 years. Moreover, they are married for more than 30 years and there are few to none who could match their relationship in Hollywood. However, their relationship was not smooth, and they also experienced many rollercoaster rides in their relationship. Lately, Magic revealed confessing a dark secret to his wife that could have changed their relationship.

The fans have witnessed the ‘magic’ of Magic Johnson in the Los Angeles Lakers. But they might not know the backstory behind his rise to prominence. In his docu-series, ‘They Call Me Magic’, Magic revealed his struggle to habituate in LA in his debut year. However, he got accustomed slowly to this new lifestyle but developed an addiction to women that ultimately ended after he contracted HIV.

The addiction made Magic welcome his first and eldest son, Andre Johnson, after he dated a woman named Mellisa Mitchell. In addition to this, Andre came at a time when Magic didn’t have any relationship with Cookie. Hence the Lakers legend had to confess it somehow to his wife to not let it have any effect on their relationship afterward.

In the docu-series, Cookie revealed how Magic confessed about Andre to her. She said she saw Magic coming with a boy when she was visiting Magic’s mom and one of his sisters. She added how she found the little boy standing with him, looking a bit terrified. Thereafter, Cookie got to know his name, Andre from them and eventually understood that this was going to be his son.

However, Magic explained later how this incident happened. He being with saying this was a story of a night. Subsequently added, “We slept together, and I never thought, you know, that, uh, she was pregnant.” Moreover, Magic finished off by saying later he found out Andre was his son.

The aforementioned statement of Magic probably expressed how there was a bit of nervousness in his answer. That’s why he might have stumbled up a few times during confession. However, actually, the presence of Andre didn’t have any effect on their relationship. Their marriage in 1991 was one of the biggest proofs that Cookie probably well-accepted Andre in her life. In addition to their marriage, their numerous gatherings at social events might also give everyone her perspective on Andre.
