The modern-day NBA is ruled by elite shooters. When it comes to the best, no player can go above Stephen Curry. The three-point king of the NBA redefined the art of shooting and completely changed basketball. However, back in the 1980s, there was a guard who did Steph-like things before the Baby Face Assassin. That man was Cavaliers legend, Mark Price. He even won over LeBron James with his unreal display. And he feels a team-up with LeBron James would have been nasty.

While Price was never the biggest name, he struck fear on the court. The Cleveland legend was one of the most skilled point guards of his generation. In addition, he had one of the purest shots in the game. Putting on nearly 50/40/90 splits for his entire career, Mark was a serious threat. He humiliated legends such as Isiah Thomas. He was a maestro of splitting screens with elite shot-making ability. Unfortunately, he was a little too early.

Nearly a decade after his retirement, LeBron James walked down the NBA court in a Cavaliers jersey. Likewise, Price wishes they got the chance to share the floor.

LeBron James is a fan of Price

The King is by far the biggest athlete in the history of Cleveland sports. He electrified the Cleveland arena as soon as he stepped foot on the hardwood. His nuclear athleticism dazzled NBA fans all around the globe. However, the Akron Hammer took his time to give love to a fellow Cleveland legend. James went on Twitter to say Price was beyond underrated. Likewise, the four-time All-NBA guard responded.

Over his playing career, James and shooters is a match made in heaven. Price himself was one of the best the NBA ever saw. And the former NBA star couldn’t help but imagine the carnage he and LeBron could cause if they played together. Price said: “Appreciate the shoutout. Too bad we weren’t able play together…we would have killed it!”

LeBron James is probably at his best when surrounded by perimeter threats. One of the best examples was Ray Allen. During the King’s reign in Miami, Allen was a critical part of the dynasty’s success. James is one of the best passers to grace the game. Having Price in his corner would have changed the entire narrative. A LeBron-Price duo would have arguably shocked the league.

In an episode of ‘The Shop’, LeBron revealed his dream teammate to be Stephen Curry. And Price would have filled that role perfectly. Not only was he a career 40% three-point shooter, but he knew how to break down the game. With two of the smartest players on the same floor, Cleveland would have been the top team. The King’s career would look a lot different if he had Price running the show in Cleveland. However, it can only go as far as a dream for the city and the four-time All-Star.
