Wife Vanessa Shares A Gigi and Kobe Bryant Mural That Will Leave NBA Fans Emotional

Kobe Bryant and Gigi Bryant’s death came as a shock to the NBA community. Kobe was very much revered by fans and peers alike. Lakers fans thought of him as one of their own, even though he was actually from Philadelphia. His daughter, Gigi, too was inspired by her father. She was pursuing a career in basketball. In fact, she had aspirations to play for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA.
This all came crashing down on that fateful day : 26th of January 2020. Kobe and Gigi Bryant both passed away in a helicopter crash near the Calabasas. However, along with Vanessa Bryant, the legacy of the Bryants stay in the form of elder daughter Natalia and the two other younger daughters. Vanessa has kept his and Gigi’s legacy alive. She has been a great caretaker of their memories.

Recently, she posted a story on a Kobe, and Gigi mural made in Downtown Long Beach. It is a great black, white, and grey mural with the only splash of color (yellow) present in the “Lakers” part of it. There have been a significant number of murals made by artists honoring the two in Los Angeles and worldwide. Vanessa posted this very beautiful one in her stories.

Vanessa Bryant has been a great keeper of Kobe Bryant’s legacy. She has allowed Nike to make shoes in his and Gigi’s honor. They have recently made the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” to honor Gigi Bryant. The revenue proceeds from the shoes will go to the Mamba and Mambacita organization. She, in fact, gifted some to her friends.

What is the Mamba and Mambacita organization? According to their mission statement, it is a “nonprofit organization dedicated to creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys & girls in sports. Founded through the vision and loving memory of Kobe and Gianna ‘Gigi’ Bryant.”
Their aim is to allow underprivileged athletes to be represented in various school leagues and others which can increase their socio-emotional and physical development. Their aim also states that they want both young boys and girls to participate in sports equally.
