Loyalty is very rare in the NBA universe as either the players leave the franchise or somehow the team manages to send away the players somewhere else. However, in today’s NBA there are still a handful of players who stay loyal to their teams. One such example of a player is the Portland Trail Blazers centerpiece, Damian Lillard. However, the seven-time All-Star has not won any championship with the Blazers, despite being loyal to them. In light of this, a basketball-related meme page made a ‘loyalty’ meme which in turn caught his attention and made him reflect on the meme.

Lillard apparently didn’t mince his words when he replied to the meme. Keep reading to find out what exactly did the now 32-year-old say in response.

A basketball-related fan page posted a ‘loyalty’ meme surrounding Lillard and the Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal lately. The caption of the meme read, “Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal are living proof that being “loyal” doesn’t win you anything.”

However, the aforementioned meme was seemingly not taken lightly by the Trail Blazer superstar. He took to Twitter and replied to the meme, Y’all gettin carried away with the loyalty thing because mfs don’t bounce to y’all drum. And what I’ve done has won me plenty.(emoji) …”

The Trail Blazers guard’s statements implied that he was fed up with the narrative that he is ‘wasting’ his time in the team that drafted him. Moreover, the seven-time All-Star seemingly didn’t like the aforementioned meme page clowning on him for staying loyal.

Lillard might not have won the coveted gold trophy but there are quite a few things that he has accomplished over the years on the hardwood. The 32-year-old has an Olympic Gold medal in his bag. Moreover, he has made it into the All-Star team seven times. Besides that, he is Wait, it doesn’t stop here.

The Trail Blazers guard has made it into All-NBA First Team, All-NBA Third Team, NBA All-Rookie First Team each one time respectively and All-NBA Second Team four times. Apart from that, he is also the 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year, and 2021 NBA Teammate of the Year.
